Do you need to charge a hybrid car?
Hybrid cars typically do not need to be plugged in to be charged, as they have both a gasoline engine and an electric motor that work together to power the vehicle. The electric motor is charged through the use of a regenerative braking system, which captures energy normally lost during braking and stores it in the car’s battery. In addition, the gasoline engine can also charge the battery while the car is being driven. However, some hybrid vehicles, such as the Toyota Prius Prime, do have the option of being plugged in to a household outlet or public charging station to charge the battery and extend the car’s all-electric driving range.
